This Privacy Policy governs your use of the Prayer mode mobile application (the "App"), provided by Mohamed Brahim Yahyaoui ("we," "us," or "our," referring to the developer).
The App is designed with your privacy as its highest priority. This policy explains how the App uses necessary device permissions to function without collecting, storing, or sharing any personal data from you.
2. How Prayer mode Uses Permissions (No Personal Data Collected)
Our app requires certain permissions to provide its core features:
- Location (Precise & Approximate, including Background): We use your device's location to calculate accurate prayer times. This includes background access to keep times updated even when the app is closed. This location data is processed only on your device and is never collected, stored, or shared by us or any third parties.
- Internet: Used only to fetch prayer time calculation data from aladhan.com's API. No personal data is sent or received during this process.
- Notifications: To send you important alerts and reminders for prayer times (e.g., "Prayer mode is active").
- Do Not Disturb (DND) / Notification Policy Access: To control your device's sound settings and activate DND mode during prayer times, based on your choices. We do not access, read, or collect any of your notifications, messages, or call content.
- Alarms & Reminders: To set and trigger alerts for prayer times on your device.
Key Data Principles:
- All data processing related to these permissions happens locally on your device.
- We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data from your device to our servers or any third parties.
- Regarding Identifiers: Prayer mode does not use analytics tools, tracking technologies, or advertising identifiers (like the Advertising ID) to monitor your usage or behaviour, nor do we collect or transmit them for our own purposes. If any third-party library incidentally accesses such identifiers as part of its internal operation (e.g., for system-level diagnostics), this data is not collected by us, nor is it used for tracking, analytics, or advertising.
- Prayer mode does not display any advertisements.
Important Note on DND: If you enable DND through the app, you may miss notifications or calls, including emergencies. You are responsible for configuring your device's DND settings and exceptions.
3. Your Control Over Your Privacy
You are in complete control:
- Your Data and Identifiers: Prayer mode does not collect any personal data or unique device identifiers (like Advertising ID) for our use or for tracking purposes. You can enable or disable Prayer mode features at any time.
- Customize app settings and preferences.
- Manage app permissions directly through your device's system settings.
- Uninstalling the app removes all associated data stored locally on your device.
4. Children's Privacy
Prayer mode is not intended for children under 13. Since we do not collect any personal data from any user, we do not knowingly process information from minors. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, please contact us immediately.
5. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our designated website https://prayermode.github.io/prayermode/privacy.html. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically for any changes. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting.
